Braai Broodjies

To start, we will go with the most obvious option. Braai Broodjies (toasties). Everyone loves a Braai Broodjie, and they are a great breakfast option. Spice up your breakfast broodjie, and add a fried egg inside. The recipe below serves 2 and can be adjusted to how many guests you will be feeding.

  1. Butter the bread on both sides.
  2. Spread Chutney and Creamy Peri Peri Sauce on the inside of the bread.
  3. Add the fried onions and grated cheese.
  4. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  5. Close the sandwiches and place them in a sandwich grid to toast over medium coals.
  6. Grill and turn over when the one side is golden.

Scrambled Eggs

You will need a cast-iron skillet/pan to cook your eggs on the fire. Alternatively, some braais have a skillet option to add.

You can easily add Breakfast Sausages or Bacon to be grilled on the side directly over the coals.
